Clara Schuman
is a creative hailing from the Chicago area, currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis, IN, with plans to later earn a Master's degree in Art Therapy. At present, she works as a studio assistant for Allison Baker and an editor for Horizon Photography.
Through slow-moving, intimate processes, Schuman’s work approaches questions around identity, memory, and legacy, and is often highly materially motivated. Both the methods and materialistic choices she employs in her work frequently reference her own familial and cultural heritage in an attempt to forge connection and reconcile identity. and Her work has most recently been displayed at Storage Space Gallery and the Herron Wearable Art show.
